Ted received a snare drum as a present on his third birthday, which allowed him to start playing along with his favorite recording, an LP of a military marching band performing “Waltzing Mathilda.” A few years later his dad, himself a professional musician, helped Ted sketch out an early song, “I Wish I had an Animal.” As a drummer and songwriter, Ted has been at it ever since, from Barrymore’s Ballroom in Ottawa, Canada, to the sidewalk outside King Kong Burger in Lincoln, Nebraska. Based now in Durango, Colorado, Ted is a founding member of the band Mojo Birds and performs with a variety of national and regional acts. Apart from music, Ted maintains an active fine arts practice (www.tedmoorewoodworkandart.com), spending hours in close observation of decaying trees. ​
